We have now reached the middle of the hot summer months, and your offices are in full-throttle mode. Orders are high and closings are filling up the calendar each day making survival essential. Our Agency Team sees how busy the industry is this summer. Hopefully these few tips can help you and your staff thrive through the busy season.
- Think Positively and Build Your Self Confidence – By believing you can complete the task in front of you, regardless of the difficulty, the fire in you stays hot and spurs you to completion. Negative thoughts lead only to failure and ultimately doom and despair.
- Visual Training – See yourself as successful. If you are stressed, visualize yourself as calm in a place you like. “Go to your happy place” mentally, if only for a few minutes. Step away, gather yourself, then come back and make your vision a reality.
- Plan for Adversity – Having a plan or strategy for dealing with adversity is a way to stay positive—a contingency plan for success. My son deals with adversity on the golf course during a tournament by following his coach’s advice of singing Christmas carols in his head. He says, “You can’t help but be happy when you are singing Christmas carols!”
- Bonus – Get plenty of rest. The National Sleep Foundation recommends 7-8 hours of sleep per night for adults. Sleep rejuvenates your mind after a long day and rebuilds our ability to react and make good decisions on the fly.
