FNTI is proud to announce two new state counsels available to our New Mexico agents to contact with your underwriting questions. Jeremy Jones and Mo Chavez are both well respected and experienced in all facets of the title insurance industry. We are proud to have them on the First National Title team and know that they offer a valuable service to the independent agents. Their full resumes can be viewed on our website at: www.fnti.com/statereps.
Craig Dunbar and I will be attending the New Mexico Land Title Association’s Annual Conference outside Albuquerque this week. We are excited to be there to renew old friendships, attend educational and social events, and spread the First National Title philosophy! New Mexico is facing the same challenges of CFPB compliance and the upcoming TRID implementation as the rest of the country. This conference focuses on education and compliance. The active New Mexico Land Title Association has prepared its members for these changes and continues to engage all parties in the process. We believe there is a bright future for the independent agents, and that their success is tied to maintaining a relevant relationship with the national and local lenders. First National Title has the tools and experience required to support our independent agents through these changes. Our compliance department, legal department, and agency staff look forward to answering your questions and solving your problems.
Craig Dunbar is responsible for our New Mexico agency staff and legal department. Craig’s experience and history in this state gives him a unique perspective. He started his title career in Albuquerque and then traveled south to Las Cruces for an 11-year ride as an officer at a local agent. A national underwriter in Texas attracted his attention for twenty years, but he eventually found himself back in New Mexico, working in the public sector in Santa Fe. I have known Craig for over twenty years and believe that he can make a difference for an underwriter that focuses on the needs of the independent agent. He joined First National in January 2014 and helped us get licensed in New Mexico. His Texas and New Mexico relationships have given us an important connection to the independent agents in both states.
