In the spirit of the Holiday Season, I shall not use this space or time to educate and entertain you with insight about CFPB, or Chicken Fried Peanut Butter, as I call it.
This is the time of year to reflect on the past and look to a bright future.
We are blessed to be in an industry that helps move the economy, thus the nation. When we are not busy, that not only means relators and builders and lenders aren’t busy; but also means roofers, landscapers, carpenters, wallpaper hangers, plumbers, etc. aren’t busy. Then the hardware and supply stores, laundries, nurseries, baby sitters, gas stations, fast foods, etc. The list that the real estate industry directly effects goes on and on.
The real estate industry affects everyone you see in some way. They may not realize it, but in 2008 and 2009 they did.
It takes professionals, like we have in the title industry to keep the ball rolling, and when it’s rolling downhill, a lot of industries are affected. When we are pushing it up, it’s harder work, but it is worth it.
Many moons ago I took on a job as a courier for a title company, not knowing what a title company was, what it did, and who it affected. I’ve seen the industry come from rotary phones, carbon paper, and handwritten plant postings, to what we have today. Many industries have not survived, but we did.
We have made it through cold war, segregation, recessions and a man on the moon (who did that examination?).
We should be proud of what we do, and especially at this time of year be thankful to all who have made us what we are, GRATEFUL and Humbled.
Happy Holidays to All!
